On Sunday, June 26th, 2016 my friends and I attended our first Gatsby Garden Party hosted by the City of Toronto Historic Sites at the Spadina Museum.
It's not secret that I adore anything and everything from the 1920's!!! I have already hosted two parties with this Jazz Age/Art Deco theme, and if I could, would have a whole lot more! There's something about the fashion, literature and music that truly speaks to me from this period. Oh and let's not forget all the feathers, pearls, and sparkles!!! A girl can never have too many of those in her wardrobe...
Naturally, when I heard about this Great Gatsby event, I jumped at the chance to travel back in time!
It's also always a special treat when I get to wear some of my wedding accessories!
Here is a peek into our experience:
I highly recommend attending with friends or family! It's my understanding, that they host this special event every year in June.
I loved everything about this Gatsby Party from the magical gardens, the architecture of the museum, how dressed up the guests were, and the idea of a Sunday picnic under the trees.
There is no better way to spend a weekend in the city of Toronto!
Thank you to my friends and their kids for humouring my Great Gatsby obsession!!! It was a lot of fun dressing up, especially seeing the little ones in their 1920's outfits. They were all so cute!
Have you tried a unique event in Toronto? What suggestions do you have for us? I am always looking for new opportunities to share with my son!
So we beat on,
Boats against the current,
Borne back ceaselessly into the
PAST.
